Over the past few weeks, Hurricane Dorian wreaked havoc across much of the Atlantic. The storm became a Category 5 hurricane with winds that reached 180 miles per hour. Our team had been monitoring Dorian in the chance that it became as powerful as was predicated and, unfortunately, that became the case for much of the Bahamas, with damage inflicted upon parts of the U.S. Atlantic Coast as well. The storm continues to do damage in Nova Scotia as a post-tropical cyclone.
The situation in the Bahamas is devastating. Many areas featured total infrastructure loss and the loss of life remains to be scene. Our team is actively engaging with those in the area on how we can assist.
Ocracoke Island in the Outer Banks off of the coast of the Carolinas was hit particularly hard by Hurricane Dorian. Up to 5 feet of water flooded much of the small island, and things are just starting to be put back together early this week.
