role overview

Responsible for providing assembly, testing and facility support for all our production efforts. Uses hand & power tools to assemble units according to assembly / work instructions and engineering plans. Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision.  Requires exercising some independent judgment. May be required to provide training to new employees. This position reports to the Mobility Production Supervisor.

responsibilities

  • Inspects and tests welds and equipment

  • Ensures durability as well as meets specified standards and examines equipment to determine if repairs or new equipment is needed

  • Reviews production travelers, and schematics to confirm correct sequence of operation

  • Ability to produce the acceptable volume of work, as detailed in production routings

  • Will assist in the identification of improvements in our assembly work instructions and testing

  • Understands and observes all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers; attends periodic safety meetings as required; may recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

• Good mechanical aptitude

• Ability to operate a variety of hand tools and machinery

• Capable of performing basic mathematics

• Able to read a tape measure

• Ability to read and interpret company documents, such as safety rules, operating/manufacturing instructions, blueprints and policy and procedure

• Good manual dexterity required to work with both small and large parts

• Able to problem-solve using existing procedures to perform straightforward tasks

• Ability to recognize welding symbols and specifications

• Knowledge of industry safety practices

qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Experience working in a production environment governed by ISO 9001:2008

• Vocational training, or equivalent experience

• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs
