Vieques Treatment Center

In Puerto Rico, recovery from Hurricane Maria remains ongoing - and Western Shelter is proud our products can assist in that recovery.

The island of Vieques, a few miles off the coastline of mainland Puerto Rico, is still operating off of generators. The hospital in Vieques was badly damaged. As the hospital is rebuilt, Vieques has been using a METTS trailer in tandem with a Gatekeeper shelter as its treatment center.

This METTS trailer has traveled around Puerto Rico over the last several years responding to many incidents, and become a vital asset for the Department of Health.
